About Coleman twinz

The Coleman Twinz began in 2020 with a sewing machine and a Facebook post during COVID. What started as facemasks quickly evolved into personalized apparel, professional production, and eventually licensed merchandise and laser engraving.

As proud 2008 alumni of Jackson State University and members of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., initiated through the Delta Pi Chapter in 2006, we pursued licensing to meet demand for official merchandise. Over time, we expanded into Phi Beta Sigma and Junior League.

Today, we produce licensed apparel, custom hats, engraved gifts, and corporate merchandise all made to order, handled in-house, and designed with purpose.

We are not a mass producer. We are a production studio for the things people can’t find anywhere else.

Our Beginning (2020)

The Coleman Twinz began out of a simple need during COVID… facemasks. Like so many others, we struggled to find masks that met our expectations. After learning to sew from our cousin and purchasing our first sewing machine, we began making masks for ourselves. A simple Facebook post sharing our new skill quickly turned into a wave of requests.

One sewing machine became two. One bolt of fabric became hundreds. Cash App payments became an Etsy store and then a Shopify store.

As customers asked for personalization, we purchased a Cricut. That personalization soon expanded from facemasks to t-shirts, and that’s how we entered the apparel world. Over time, we outgrew small equipment and moved into professional production tools, screen prints, and DTF printing to support multi-color designs and higher demand.

Licensing & Purpose

As our apparel business grew, we began receiving more requests for designs related to our alma mater, Jackson State University, and our sorority, Delta Sigma Theta. Because these required licensing, we often had to turn orders away. We realized we already had a market waiting for us, we simply needed to take the step to become licensed.

During this time, our mother was diagnosed with stage 4 cervical cancer. Our passion for the business slowed, but she made us promise not to let our hard work and equipment go to waste. A few days before she passed away, we received approvals for additional licenses including Delta Sigma Theta.

After her passing, we struggled to find motivation, but eventually looked at each other and said she would be disappointed if we didn’t continue. That moment reignited our drive.

We slowly returned to promoting our Jackson State and Delta offerings, then intentionally expanded into Phi Beta Sigma and later Junior League. What began as novelty t-shirts evolved into licensed merchandise for universities, Greek organizations, and nonprofit organizations.
Entering the Laser World

Our move into laser engraving started with hats. After investing in professional hat presses, we wanted decoration methods that didn’t require large minimum orders. Leather hat patches became the solution, and that led us into purchasing our first CO₂ laser.

That one laser quickly turned into three, CO₂, diode, and UV, within three months. What started as hat patches expanded into custom gifts, tumblers, charcuterie boards, and corporate merchandise.

Where We’re Going

In the next three years, we see The Coleman Twinz expanding product offerings, incorporating new technologies, and growing into a storefront where customers can see, feel, and experience everything we create in one place.

What Makes Us Different

Every item we sell is made to order with care. We do not mass produce or resell. We personally design, create, and package every order.

We are graduates of Jackson State University, active members of Delta Sigma Theta, and deeply connected to the organizations we serve. From single custom pieces to bulk corporate orders, our work is personal, creative, and meaningful.

This is not just business. It is passion, family, and purpose.
